...Because GOD Is With You!

“And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest: Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned. And Abraham said, I will swear. And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away. And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day. And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant” (Genesis 21: 22-27).

“And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you? And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee” (Genesis 26:27-28)

Those who chased you away will now seek your favor. They will want to make a covenant with you because they will notice that GOD is with you in all that you do.

'Walk After the Spirit Not After the Flesh'

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace” (Romans 8:1-6).

A few weeks back, I came across the above scripture in my Bible and it was as if I was reading it for the very first time. It made more sense to me than it had ever made before. The phrase, ‘walk after the Spirit’ as opposed to walking after flesh could not leave my mind! I kept thinking about it and praying that I would walk after the Spirit at all times. Was this the first time I was saying such a prayer? NO! It was a prayer I say every so often in my life. However, it was as if I had never read it before.

I don’t know about you but I will often move forward in my seat in an attempt to reach out my hand and do something very stupid interpreted as FOLLOWING THE FLESH! I now believe that GOD made me keenly aware of that scripture because He knew that some situations would arise that would necessitate me to be ALERT. These situations seem to have been waiting for me to read that scripture with new understanding for them to furiously chase one another down my street!

In fact, just in the last few minutes, thoughts in reaction to some carnal things fought for my attention as if vying for the first position! Therefore, I had to mentally restrain myself from retaliating in the flesh...from walking after the flesh! Maybe it should have been called CHASING AFTER THE FLESH because the urge to follow my carnal instincts was so loud that I had to rebuke myself so strongly. I noticed that these urges were preceded by a very uncomfortable feeling of strife or of lack of peace somewhere around my heart...enticing me to REACT. However, when I remembered the word of GOD, I stilled myself and dug in to the peace that follows walking after the Spirit. What I first thought was too bad not to react too, soon faded away into nothingness and peace prevailed.

Do I speak to you when I talk about these things? Do you, sometimes, feel like reacting in kind to those carnal attacks? I would like to encourage you that it is only a moment of stupidity or weakness that, which if you do not feed, will quickly dissipate. Let us then hold on to our sanity but also to the Spirit of GOD and purpose to walk after the Spirit not after the flesh. Let us PUT OFF what we thought needed to be REACTED TO NOW and lean back and simply rest in His peace.

Prayer

Dear GOD, I confess that I am sometimes inclined to react to certain attacks and situations that I should not react to. Please forgive me. I now realize that when I do react I am walking after the flesh instead of walking after the Spirit. Please give me the grace to choose to walk after the Spirit instead of  after the flesh. Grant me the wisdom to put off, indefinitely, that which I thought had to be HANDLED NOW. Father, I pray that I choose peace always instead of strife. I thank you, LORD, because you have done it. In Jesus’ mighty name, I have prayed, amen.

'Hebron' - FAITH

“And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight” (Numbers 13:27-33).

After I wrote ‘Hebron’ (http://zionmukisa.blogspot.ug/2013/06/hebron.html), I kept feeling that I had not exhausted it fully. Therefore, I continued asking GOD to give me the entire meaning of the word, ‘Hebron’ and He did.

Now, about two nights ago, I had a dream in which GOD gave me the complete meaning of ‘Hebron’. He showed me a sentence and then explained to me in one word, ‘FAITH’. He told me that Hebron stands for faith. To be honest with you, I do not even remember the rest of the sentence but only the word, ‘FAITH’.

I then understood that at the time that I wrote that word, GOD was calling us to a place of faith concerning His promise. He is still calling us to that place - He wants you and me to believe the promise that He gave us just as Caleb and Joshua did. Yes, the ‘children of Anak’ may be in the land that He promised us but He is more than able to drive them out. All He wants from us is faith. We need to acknowledge that ‘anakites’ are there indeed, but that GOD is stronger than they are and will drive them out before us.

“But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it” (Numbers 14:24).

You will agree with me that it was because Caleb believed that GOD would do it that He gave him Hebron. Similarly, GOD will give us the land of our inheritance if we hold on to our faith about acquiring the Promised Land against all odds.

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” (Ephesians 3:20).

The odds or the children of Anak stand for all that seems like a challenge to your acquiring the land. They could be finances, or even people or only one person. Yes, those challenges seem insurmountable but today GOD is telling you to stand firm in your faith. He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that you ask or think but only according to the power that works in you!

Prayer

Dear GOD, I confess that I saw the child of the anak in the land that you promised me and I lost my faith for a while. Please forgive me. I am now back to my place of faith, LORD. Give me the grace to believe your word that you have indeed given me the land. Holy Spirit, whenever I am about to lose sight of my promise remind me of all that GOD has done for me. Help me keep the faith that the GOD who promised me the land is the same GOD who will ensure that I get it against all odds. Father, give me the grace to follow you wholeheartedly like Caleb did even as you give me his spirit... a different spirit. Father, activate your power in me so that you can do exceeding abundantly more than I can ever ask or think. In Jesus’ name, I have prayed, amen.

"...and with his finger wrote on the ground..."

“But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.  And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more” (John 8:5-11).

On 7 August 2015, I wrote a post entitled, 'Tamar and Judah'
(http://zionhopemukisa.blogspot.ug/2015/08/tamar-and-judah.html) and then I wrote another entitled, 'Innocence' (https://mukisa59.wordpress.com/2015/09/03/innocent/) on 3 September 2015 and I thought that that was it. However, yesterday, GOD re-emphasized it. He took me back to that time when Jesus bent down and wrote in the sand only to look up again and find that all those who had initially condemned the woman caught in adultery had walked away. They had all walked away because none of them was without sin.

Today, GOD wants me to tell you that all who condemned you and were ready to stone you will walk away and GOD Himself will declare you innocent. However, you must leave your 'adulterous' lifestyle and sin no more.

Once again, GOD is going to use the ‘Rahabs’ of this world in His kingdom.

GOD BLESS YOU.
