Fati

Don’t you like it when people share their testimonies with you very early in the morning? Well, that is what happened to me this morning. However, allow me to ‘rewind a bit’ before I tell you all about it.

Late one evening, I ended up going home later than I usually do because I had been held up somewhere. On my way home, I met a Muslim woman called Fati (Fatuma) who I have known for over ten years. As we stood at the roadside and talked, she told me that she had not yet given her life to Christ, so, I preached to her. However, since she was in a hurry to get home we agreed that I would visit her salon and preach to her some more.

Well, even if some days went by before I actually kept my word the Holy Ghost convicted me whenever I would walk past it. Eventually, by the grace of GOD, I visited Fati at her salon one day. When I got there, she was ready for me and after exchanging pleasantries she asked me to ‘get into it’. Not needing any more urging, I preached to her and her colleague. However, I noted that Fai seemed to be worried about something but I did not know what it was and the Holy Ghost did not reveal it to me either.

As I preached on, I was surprised when Fati said that she believed in the healing power of GOD. She recounted that when her mother was sick, a few years back, she would often call Pentecostals to pray for her and that she was healed eventually. What that said to me was that she did believe in the name and the power of my JESUS – that was a good starting point. Convincing her that that same JESUS is not just any prophet but the Son of GOD and GOD incarnate was not easy though. Nevertheless, I acknowledged that convincing her was not my responsibility but that of the Holy Ghost!

“...it is by grace you have been saved...” (Ephesians 2:5).

The preaching went on and I excitedly led the two women through the sinner’s prayer before long. However, what dampened my spirits was that as soon as that was done Fati confessed that both of them would often confess Christ as their personal Savior but would soon backslide and fall back to their old ways. Fati also confessed that breaking ‘Muslim habits’ was not easy and that she would often find herself pulling out her mat at the set prayer times and ‘doing her thing’. Her friend, too, had her own habits that she found hard to break. However, instead of breaking me completely these confessions made me find my mouth. In their hearing, I confessed that this time would be different and that they would not fall back to their old habits as they had done all those previous times. I told them that it is only by grace that we are saved and that we do not turn our backs on Christ. I told them that it is still by the same grace that we do not continue with the habits that once had authority over us before we gave our lives to Christ. After that, I led them in a prayer confessing that this time, it would be different, and that they would not abandon Christ and salvation or return to their old habits.

“And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it” (John 14:13-14).

Although, I returned to her salon the following day to give them each a copy of my book called ‘Prayer’, I did not see any of the two women again until this morning. Now, today morning I met Fati and she told me she told me that she and her husband had separated due to infidelity on his part. In fact, she admitted that at the time I had visited her salon she had been so worried about how she would put her children through school.

“All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be your children’s peace” (Isaiah 54:13).

She then started sharing her testimonies. She said that as soon as I had prayed for her she began to feel peace. She also said that the Muslim habits had finally been broken and that she no longer reaches out for that mat... She said that much as the habit was broken, she feels no need to reach out for it because whenever she prays to GOD, through JESUS, she receives answers to her prayers. She said that when she prays for peace she becomes peaceful and that GOD sends her customers when she prays asks Him to, in JESUS’ name. Fati also testified that GOD has seen her children through school and that He provides for them when she asks Him to. She also said that she had had to take her son out of a boarding school to a day school and that GOD has been faithful in guiding and watching over him. These were her words this morning; ‘what more do I need’?

I marveled at the goodness of GOD. Knowing that Fati needed Him, He had orchestrated our meeting. GOD ensured that I would meet her at that exact time at the roadside, as she waited for her ride, so that I could talk to her about Christ. He also convicted me to keep my word about visiting her salon to continue preaching to her and then He led me there.

Now, maybe you find it hard breaking away from some old habits just as Fati and her friend did...or maybe you keep going past the office of that person to whom you need to preach...

I honestly do not know what it is that I have mentioned above that you are struggling with. However, I know that Christ can heal you of any age old habit just as He did Fati. I also know that if the Spirit of GOD is convicting you to preach to that person then He wants to save him or her and allow them to tap into His peace. I would also like to you to know that GOD can and will give you all that you ask for in the name of JESUS, the name above all names.

I want you to know that our GOD is the GOD of peace and He will give you peace regardless of what has stolen your peace. When you give your life to Christ, you will find peace in Him. The good Shepherd will not only look after you but He will also look after your children and meet all your needs.

JESUS is not merely a prophet as some say but He is the Son of GOD and He is your salvation. Give your life to Him if you have not yet done so and confess Christ as your personal Savior. Walk with Him and purpose not to backslide. I am here to tell you that the Holy Ghost helps us give our lives to Christ (get saved) but He is also the Spirit who sustains us in salvation. He will sustain you as well.

Prayer

Dear GOD, I come to you in the name of your Son JESUS Christ. I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that JESUS is the Son of GOD. I believe that JESUS died for my sins and rose again and now sits enthroned on the right hand side of the Father. I confess that I have sinned and fallen short of your glory. I now confess all my sins and ask you to wash me clean with your blood.

Father of all grace, I now surrender all my habits to you. I surrender all the habits that make me turn back to my old lifestyle and to the old religions that deny that JESUS is indeed your Son and that He is GOD incarnate. I ask you for the grace never to pick up them up again. Please replace them with new habits that are pleasing to you.

Father, I have read that you give peace. I now ask you to give me that peace – I want to know the peace that you give those who have given their lives to you and that you call your children.

Almighty GOD, I also ask that you heal me of all that stands in the way of my giving my life to you completely and living as a born-again Christian. Please strengthen me so that I never turn my back on you. In JESUS’ name, I have prayed, amen.

A New But Old Way...

Many do not realize it but GOD’S ways are dynamic. He will often tell me how to pray during a particular season and when that season is over, He will direct me along yet another path. Now, this seemingly new path is one that I have traveled before but had discarded when He led me on the one I have been following. Before long, I will get indication that my prayers have been answered faster along this new but old path than they were along the one He just moved me from.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9).

Now, a few days back, GOD gave me a new but old form of prayer that I had used long ago but I was so used to my current one that the transition did not come easy. In fact, I felt that I was going back to old ways yet I was supposed to engage in more sophisticated forms of prayer but I was so wrong. You see, GOD’S ways are indeed not our ways. He may sometimes take you forward yet seemingly backward but He has His reasons and they are always the best.

Now, last night He woke me up to ‘keep watch’ after 4.00AM and I did not feel like doing so. However, the Holy Ghost carried me to the altar and took over. As He skillfully guided me along, I felt the change – I felt that something was happening in the spirit. Of course, it was not long before the sun swiftly took the place of the moon and it was time to get ready for work. I soon forgot about the perceived impact of my new but old prayer direction, in the early morning rush, but GOD did not.

Consequently, on my way to work, I met someone who reminded me of a time of severe lack and uncertainty in my life. Well, having heard of how good GOD had been to him, I was surprised to see him on foot but I know that that was divine after hearing that he had chosen to take a taxi this morning. As we stood there chatting, we both remembered that time of our lives and acknowledged that GOD had surely watched over us. I particularly remembered the time when he and I had sat in my car and prayed. To see what GOD had done in his life continues to amaze me but also to humble me. GOD led us both to our destinies even though in different directions...

As he and I were getting ready to part ways, he surprised me by prophesying over me and I could not have asked GOD for a better morning. He said things over my life that I had prayed about earlier in my watch and I was glad that I had humbly followed the guidance of the Sprit of GOD in prayer.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:19).

For some time now, GOD has been talking to me about doing something new and I must admit that I did not relish the new because I wanted to stick with the old. I wanted to stick with the old because GOD had spoken about it and confirmed it more times than I can remember. However, with this latest occurrence I now realize that GOD knows exactly what He is doing and that the new is actually the old redone. It is indeed the old done afresh.

Subsequently, I would like to encourage you to be alert to GOD’S dynamic nature especially in regards to prayer and be willing to follow His leading. He will lead you in an entirely new but old direction that you will hesitate about following but your life will take on an entirely new direction when you let go of your inhibitions and simply follow the Master.

In other areas as well, trust GOD to lead you along a new yet old path because He will give you better results.

Prayer

Dear GOD, I confess that I sometimes get so used to the old ways of praying that I fail to see and comply to the new way yet old way. Please forgive me. I now submit to your guidance and ask you to carry me to my next form of prayer. I know that your wisdom will sometimes entail taking me back to my old prayer mode but I now know that you have a good reason for doing so. I thank you for keeping me alert and pliable to your guidance but I also thank you for the answers attached to this new but old form of prayer. I pray that I am obedient to your leading all the days of my life. In JESUS’ name, I have prayed, amen.

Personal Assistant

At times GOD will speak to me in words taken out of a certain scripture in His word. He will simply say a word that clearly leads me to a certain scripture. Nonetheless, He will not explain it as such, which leads me to simply release the scripture in itself without adding or subtracting anything. Now, what I talk about today is one such word.

One of the things that operating in the office of the Prophet has taught me is that sometimes the things that happen to me are in essence happening to or about to happen to someone else or to the entire body of Christ. In the same breath, even if a word that GOD gives me applies to me, it may also apply to someone else or be a corporate word. Now, sometimes I will be quick to pass it off as a corporate word and release it as such and that was the case recently.

Early one morning, GOD spoke and told me ‘Job well done’. Well, being one who always drives myself hard...I did not think that word was for me. In fact, I did not feel that I had done anything to elicit such approval from GOD! Consequently, I released it as a corporate word. Now, shortly after that, He spoke again in the words, ‘Hephzibah Beulah’. I still did not get it so I again released the scripture as a corporate word.

“No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, [Hephzibah means my delight is in her.] and your land Beulah; [Beulah means married.] for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married” (Isaiah 62:4).

Now, He did not stop there. A few days after that, I met a woman that I had never met before. When I introduced myself to her as Zion she immediately said, ‘BEULAH’ and added that GOD is delighted in me. Even though I later found out that Beulah means married, GOD had made her interpret it as such so that He would communicate to me. Therefore, I finally knew that GOD had been communicating to me as an individual all along though again I wondered how I had managed to please Him...

“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty” (Zechariah 4:6).

Nevertheless, I remembered that I have made the Holy Spirit my personal assistant. He is the one who helps me in all that I do. To be honest with you, I find most of the ministry opportunities that come my way so daunting that I constantly turn to Him for help. In other words, there is absolutely no way that I would do what I do and please GOD along the way if it were not for the Holy Spirit.

While, in the system of the world a personal assistant is lower than his or her superior is, I refer to my Personal Assistant as my Boss. He helps me with those things that I think that I do very well but also with those that I do not do well at all. He steers me from the paths I have come to see as obvious to new paths untraveled before. In fact, sometimes, I do not even add a dot to the book I am writing at the time or even prophesy to anyone but do something totally out of my daily activities and when He looks down, GOD is pleased with me. This is amazing.

Now, recently GOD led me to the book of Zechariah, which is one of those books that reminds me of only one scripture Zechariah 4:6. In other words, whenever I think about it or I am referred to it I remember that it is not by my might and that I need to lean more to the Spirit of GOD and make Him my Personal Assistant.

Today, I wonder if you have also made the Holy Spirit your Personal Assistant...and if GOD would be delighted in you if He looked down. You see, when you allow Him to steer you GOD looks down on the ninety nine percent that He has done and the one percent that you have done and expresses His delight in you!

Prayer

Dear GOD, forgive me for being too hard on myself and missing out on your thumbs up. Heavenly Father, I thank you for appreciating me yet it is by your grace that I do what I do. Holy Spirit, I thank you so much for being my Personal Assistant. I also ask you to help me with all my assignments.

Father of grace, give me the grace to lose the fear that comes with most of my assignments. I ask you to give me the grace to remember and be secure in the fact that it is not by might nor by power but by your Spirit. In JESUS’ name, I have prayed, amen.

Deep Things Revealed in A 'Simple' Way

I honestly do not know if other writers find difficulty capturing the depth of certain matters as I do... Some of those matters are experiences that drained me so much that I was surprised to find that I was still breathing the next second.

Last year, 2014, was a challenge to me. It was, to date, the height of satanic attacks upon my life. The Spirit of GOD revealed so much that the devil had used and was using against me ‘behind closed doors’. Nonetheless, as with all the other times that the devil attacks me, I learned so much but I was also tried so much.

“...it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs” (1Corinthians 13:5).

I was tried in the area of love, which includes all those things such as forgiveness and keeping no record of wrongs. Honoring and respecting ‘authority’, regardless of what he or she has done to you, was also top on the list. However, the greatest test was being aware that GOD exists and loves me regardless of what is happening to me at the time and I am glad to say that I passed that test by the grace of GOD.

Now, what I was going through and how much ground GOD and I had covered at some point was so deep that I remember talking to GOD and asking Him (wondering), ‘how am I ever going to be able to capture all this, LORD? GOD, this is so intense but it also has so many ‘scenes’. How will I ever testify about this? What will I say?’ Well, I must say that it did not take GOD long to respond to all my fears.

Turning the ‘last page of the book’ of those challenges, I met a friend who had just had a similar experience to mine. Before long, she asked me write her a poem about the faithfulness of GOD – that was how GOD addressed my fears about capturing the intensity of that trial. As I prayed about what I should write, the Holy Spirit reminded me about that experience. He brought back the emotions I had felt then and a poem (Right There by Zion H. Mukisa) was birthed.

‘Right There’ is short even though I have written bigger books and longer poems. Subsequently, it amazes me how GOD took such an intense and trying experience and summarized it in a very short poem – He took the deep things and revealed them in a very simple way to me but not too simple to GOD. By the way, I am not saying that I will not write a book about that time when and if GOD tells me to but what I am saying is that He used just a few words to share an extremely intense experience.

This poem has taught me that nothing is that simple in the eyes of GOD. In fact, even the tiniest dot in any language is important to Him and that He will use it for His glory.

The beauty of this poem is that GOD used only a few words, lines if you may, to talk about His faithfulness and to comfort someone out there by saying that He is right there with you.

Prayer

Dear GOD, sometimes I face trials that leave me gasping for breath. I know that you allow them to happen and that you use them to teach me something. However, when I look at the enormity of those challenges, I shy away at how I will ever be able to capture the intensity. Please forgive me. LORD, I now know that you are more than able to take the most intense situation and express it in a way that man considers simple but is not as simple to you. Thank you for doing so for me. In JESUS’ name, I have prayed, amen.

Bit by Bit Until The Puzzle Is Complete

Has GOD ever given you a series of activities or ‘words’, one after another, over a certain period only to give you the complete message later? Well, this is one of those rare moments. Sometimes, GOD gives me a word and asks me to release it, then another and still asks me to release it, does the same for the rest of them until the puzzle is complete! At times, He deals with me like that – He slowly releases the pieces of the puzzle bit by bit until it is done...until He ‘completes His statement’ and ‘places’ the complete word.

Well, it started with ‘Betrayal in The City’ followed by ‘Betrayal Again’ then it was followed by ‘He Will Vindicate You’ (about a false witness) all on zionmukisa.blogspot.com. Well, after every word, I would think ‘that was it’ and that GOD was done with that one but I was wrong! Okay, now, a few days back one of my sisters told me that she found a human skull in her compound, obviously put there by someone evil...

After that, two days ago, I saw someone pull out a reed out of a ‘growth’ or ‘cluster’ of reeds growing right outside an office. What a strange location. Even if, I visit this office every day I had never seen this ‘growth’ before – I had never realized that there were reeds growing in a place that was not a swamp! As this man pulled out one reed, it looked like those canes that teachers in our primary and secondary schools used to cane us with and that he was getting ready to cane someone...I briefly wondered about that as well as at the setting of those reeds in an otherwise office setting but I still did not ‘get it’...

Seemingly by accident, yet I had asked GOD what I should read, He led me to Matthew 26 and then continued on to Matthew 27 and that is when I finally got it!

You see, when Christ said that if one is to follow Him he must take his cross and follow Him, He meant that we would have to go through what He went through. He gave me His word about this message piece by piece so that I would finally get the full picture even the entire word!

“... And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head” (Matthew 27:30). From the King James Version (KJV) Red Letter Bible.

JESUS’ very own people, who had earlier laid their clothes on the ground so that He could ride on them, denied Him. False witnesses rose up against Him and then the soldiers beat Him with the reed they had mocked Him with as His king’s staff and then He was handed over to be crucified. Yes, for a moment there, they seemed to have won. However, His death and resurrection glorified GOD.

“...and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again” (Matthew 27:30). From the Ages Digital Bible.

Now, while some Bibles call it a staff others call it a reed. This means that the two carry the same meaning. The staff is a sign of authority or leadership that a king or shepherd is supposed to have. Moses had it and king Xerxes had one, which he raised and bade Esther to approach him (please don’t let me go there now). The soldiers mocked the King of the Jews with His King’s staff (a reed) unknowingly carrying out a prophetic act. You see, the reed symbolized His calling but also that it was JESUS’ calling that they used to mock Him. He had been called to save and it was what they used to ‘beat’ Him with. Another version says that the soldiers took the reed and struck Him again and again...

You

Now, you have been through all Christ went through. You have been ‘persecuted’ by those closest to you and, in some instances, faced situations of persecution like troubled marriages, addictions, poverty to mention but a few. To add salt to the wound, false witnesses have unashamedly stood against you and you have had to face human judgment.

The ‘soldiers’ your own people handed you over to have mocked you – they took that ‘reed’ (your calling) and beat you with it. Your own calling has been the cause of your persecution. Your own people (the ‘chief priests’, the ‘elders’ and the ‘Jews’) who we may call your fellow Christian brothers and sisters (born-again Christians) have used your calling against you – they have taken it and struck you again and again. In other words, your calling has been the major source of your persecution – many renowned servants of GOD have used it against you a number of times.

In addition to all of this, you have had to carry a heavy cross and led to your ‘prison’ called the ‘place of the skull’ where you have been ‘crucified’. You have been left alone on that ‘cross’ and faced your ‘death’ alone. Nonetheless, GOD says it is over – you have RESURRECTED. It does not matter what kind of persecution you have been through – your resurrection is here.

Some Of The Holy People

“The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus’ resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people” (Matthew 27:52-53).

The interesting thing is that as you resurrect, even some of the holy people who ‘died before you’ will resurrect. Your resurrection from that ‘death’ will help others get out of the tombs of all sorts of spiritual and physical conditions they had to endure.

All Christians Facing Persecution

“ ...Today...and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel” (1Samuel 17:46).

I now feel the Spirit of GOD saying that this also applies to Christians who have faced persecuted all over the world. Take heart your resurrection has come. GOD is going to reveal Himself, in your situation, as He has never done before and it will be said that, ‘there is indeed a GOD IN ISRAEL’.

Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Prophecy)

I posted an article on one of the pages I manage on facebook (Born-Again Woman...CLEARED TO GO) but I did not think that what I posted there would apply here. In that post, GOD said that He was going to restore women who felt unworthy and then pour out His Spirit of prophecy on them. He also said that what they were going to do for Him (break the alabaster box and bathe His feet in expensive perfume) would be mentioned everywhere that the gospel would be preached. Well, He says the same to you today. GOD says that He will give you more of His Spirit after your resurrection. I see an upper room in my mind...you will go deeper in Him and you will preach His word and do all that He created you for. He will anoint you more and take your ministry to another level.

Those who betrayed you will also realize what they did and be filled with remorse and will carry out an action to prove this just like Judas did.

Prayer

Dear GOD, I now know that all that I had to go through was for a purpose – your name had to be glorified. I thank you, LORD, that I had to endure all that I endured so that someone else would receive his or her resurrection. I now reach forward for my own resurrection even as I thank you for your Holy Spirit who is available to me now. I thank you for the spiritual and physical elevation you have give me already but also that that you are about to give me. I pray that you continue glorifying yourself through me using my situations to bring healing and resurrection to your holy people and holy nation. In JESUS' name, I have prayed, amen.

Testimony

I promised GOD that I would testify about this...so listen...

Yesterday, I had a piercing headache...I do not know what time it made its loud entrance into my life but suddenly, there it was! I prayed about it to no avail so I braved it, determined to work, and somehow made it through the day...

However, some time during the day I remembered a dream I had had the previous day after a very ‘earth shaking prayer watch’ with GOD. In that dream, someone I have come to recognize as my biggest enemy held one of my hair clips, which is in form of a flower, in her hands. Nonetheless, it broke in her hands as she was trying to place it in my hair...I honestly do not remember cancelling that dream (or maybe I did make a halfhearted effort at canceling) and I believe it was the source of the headache. When I remembered that dream, at around 6PM yesterday, I engaged in spiritual warfare. Now, thinking that I needed to swallow some medicine, I sent someone to buy me painkillers but she returned without them – it was divine. You see, GOD wanted me to know, without a doubt, that the headache was not a health issue but a spiritual one.

“`Wash and be cleansed’?” So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy” (2Kings 5:14).

Knowing who my enemy is and that she is Satan’s authorized master agent but also operates from a high level of satanic power made my battle a very hard one – I knew what I had to deal with. Nonetheless, this battle had to be won! Consequently, I worshipped GOD before, during, and after my shower that I decided to do the ‘Naaman way’ (from head to toe). I stood under a cold shower and prayerfully had my evening bath while engaging in warfare. By the time I was through with my shower the headache had subsided but not disappeared completely. Therefore, I continued with my prayers as I prepared for my bedtime and by the time I went to bed the headache was faint but still present. I am glad that my night was peaceful and uneventful and by the time I woke up in the morning the headache was slowly fading away but still there. Subsequently, I made it to my ‘workstation’ and began my day.

Now, as is my usual practice, this morning I stepped away from my desk and made my way to my prayer slope (Muzindalo close) that I once told you about. On the way there, I got a revelation that GOD IS BIGGER THAN MY ENEMY and that He is in fact bigger than Satan and his dark kingdom put together...close at the heels was another revelation that GOD is bigger than that headache as well – my steps quickened to Muzindalo close!

I must tell you that that changed my time of prayer completely. I began to thank GOD for my healing instead of asking Him to heal me. I believe that as I basked in the revelation of a BIG GOD, the headache found its way out!

It is unfortunate that we, sometimes, look at the vastness of our enemy and of his or her ‘weapons of warfare’ forgetting that GOD is bigger than all that put together!

“What [Or Who] are you, O mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’” (Zechariah 4:7).

Therefore, even if I had promised GOD that I would share my testimony of healing with you I also wanted to share the revelation that GOD IS BIGGER than whatever it is that magnifies itself before you – He is bigger than that mountain before you! If you get the revelation that GOD is bigger than whatever it is you are facing, the battle is won already!

Prayer

Dear GOD, forgive me for sometimes seeing the enemy as powerful yet you are more powerful than he and his kingdom put together. Heavenly Father, I also recognize the fact that you are indeed more powerful than any disease or negative situation. Therefore, I now choose to bask in your power and protection but also in the revelation that you are indeed bigger than all of this. In JESUS’ name, I have prayed, amen.

Prophetic Word

“Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than any of the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be cleansed?” So he turned and went off in a rage” (2Kings 5:12).

Just as I was inserting the relevant scripture above, GOD spoke and said that someone reading this will be asked to do something beneath him or her and he or she will hesitate to do so. Nevertheless, GOD says that you should hearken to the voice of the Prophet because therein lies your healing.

GOD also says that, just like Naaman, the Prophet will reject your efforts at ‘appreciating’ him – keep your money. This will be the sign that GOD spoke.
